A Tribute to my Dog
" SCHATZI  VON LIL BEAR "
OCT. 1994- JUNE 2006

Sadly I lost one of my best friends on Saturday June 17, 2006. Schatzi was my oldest and dearest friend and K9 partner. Schatzi came into my life right after my mother passed away, wow I didn't  realize then what an important dog she would become, and it began with therapy for myself. Schatzi and I went through many life changes, she was always at my side . She did whatever I asked of her and a few things I didn't, ( like chewing my beautiful antique  couch) oh but she was young then. Schatzi excelled in obedience training from basic to off lead advanced, earned her CGC in 96. She became my obedience demonstration dog, traveling everywhere, performing flawlessly and showing off her silly antics. She was very clownish.
Schatzi's love was so great and precious, she became a registered pet therapy dog, over the years she made numerous visits to hospitals, children's homes, schools, nursing homes, business's  carnivals, festivals, car contests, schatzi was a popular K9, she was a star and always on her best behavior anywhere she went. She brightened the days of many people less fortunate  and put a smile on alot of faces, she knew how to work the room. When we did K9 education seminars in schools she would wait until I told her ok and then she would go up and down each row of students to say hello. I never had a worry about her in any situation. In nursing homes the patients always carried cookies around or hid them in the dressers, schatzi would come in and go right to the dresser and ask for her cookie.
Schatzi was " grandma" to the many dogs she helped  raise here, and a awesome mother to three litters.  Her most trusted companion was Ruby my Canis Panther, they were inseparable, and Ruby mourned for days. Schatzi had to always know what was going on that is how she got her nickname, POPO, she was like the police always investagating.
If you had the pleasure of meeting Schatzi , I know you loved her too. Thank you.
I am honored to have had her in my life for 12 years, she was an ambassador of the Rottweiler breed, and the best car protector ever!
Schatzi rested comfortably at home in her final days and passed away surrounded by myself, Gypsy and her k9 family.
We all love you Schatzi very much~God bless you! We miss you POPO!

* This is not the last of Schatzi, her 4 year old son " Captain" will take over her job as he posesses the same outstanding qualities as his mother.*
